During the late 70s, the founder of Gar’s worked as an engineer in a Japanese company in Singapore. For six long years, he witnessed countless examples of people who had given up on living healthy lives. Consumption rates were skyrocketing with consumers over-indulging in foods laden with excess amounts of sugar and sodium. Cancer rates were rising faster than ever before – alarmingly so among younger folks too. So his siblings decided to take matters into their own hands; starting what would eventually become this family business back home.

With only good intentions at heart, they sought to create something new – dried guava fruit made without unnecessary chemicals or additives. And they succeeded!
